Frequently Asked Questions About Business Plan Costs
What does a business plan really cost?
A professional business plan generally costs between €3,000 (simple start-up) and €5,000 (financing or several business lines), depending on scope, averaging €3,500. What matters for your actual personal contribution is the funding: with an AVGS approved in writing, it is €0; with BAFA consulting funding, it is €1,750 (50% funding rate) or €700 (80%), calculated on a maximum of €3,500 in consulting costs.
Can the business plan be 100% funded?
Yes, after written approval. With an Activation and Placement Voucher (Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein, AVGS) under § 45 SGB III, the Employment Agency or the Jobcenter covers 100% of the cost of start-up coaching with the AZAV-certified provider UW Unternehmensweg GmbH, and your personal contribution is €0. A requirement is generally the receipt of unemployment benefit I or basic income support (Grundsicherungsgeld). The AVGS is a discretionary benefit (Ermessensleistung).
How much does BAFA cover?
Under the BAFA program for the promotion of entrepreneurial know-how (Förderung unternehmerischen Know-hows), consulting costs for small and medium-sized enterprises are partly subsidized, at 50% to 80% depending on company location. The approval body sets the exact funding amount.
How accurate is the calculator?
It provides non-binding guidance based on typical standard costs and the usual funding rates. What counts are the actual scope of your project and the decision of the respective funding body. In the free initial consultation, we check your specific funding eligibility.
